About Me

Hi, my name is Tom Neilly. I was born in 1985 in Mesa, Arizona, but my parents relocated back to Bradford, Pennsylvania shortly after my birth. I grew up in the small town of Smethport, Pennsylvania (home of Wooly Willy!) and attended Smethport Area Jr./Sr. High School.

In 2005, I graduated from Triangle Tech in Dubois, Pennsylvania with an Associate's degree in Maintenance Electricity and Construction Technology. I worked as an electrician from 2006 until late December of 2011, mostly for Minich Electric in Bradford, Pennsylvania, before sustaining a significant injury to my left arm. I decided it would not be in my best interest to continue to pursue my career as an electrician, so I made the decision to go back to school.

In the Fall of 2013, I began my studies at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford where I am currently majoring in Computer Information Systems and Technology. While recovering from my injury, I had a lot of time to consider my options and think about what I wanted to do with the rest of my life, and computers was it. Although I've always had an interest in computers and how they work, I didn't know much about them until after my first semester at UPB. The CIST program at Pitt Bradford has exceeded my every expectation, and I am truly passionate about my major.

I currently attend classes full time and work at CTM Services at UPB as a work study. I also work at Metz Culinary Management at UPB, where I do prep work for the salad bar, work the pizza station, and help with catering.
